Small-batch baking rooted in Philadelphia tradition. From our oven to your table — sourdough, laminated pastries, and seasonal cakes made the way they should be.
Pinch a Loaf started as a weekend experiment in a shared kitchen — a sourdough starter named after a flour-dusted thumbprint, a borrowed Dutch oven, and a stubborn belief that bread should take as long as it takes.
Four years later, we're still doing the same thing: slow-fermented dough, hand-laminated butter, and a counter full of what the neighborhood wants. We source from Pennsylvania mills and local dairy farms because the distance between our oven and your plate should be measured in blocks, not miles.
We're not a chain. We're not scaling up. We're just a small team in Fishtown who takes the craft seriously and never stops learning from the people who buy our bread every morning.
We're in the heart of Fishtown, just a short walk from the trolley. The bread is warm, the coffee is fresh, and there's always room for one more.
